Platform strengths

One platform for managing and controlling warehouse and business operations

FlexPortals goes far beyond basic inventory management. This configurable, extensible platform can be deployed initially with a focused set of capabilities and expanded as customer needs evolve to support complex, integrated enterprise requirements.

Customisable and extensible Web application Android application Complex warehouse operations Traceability and audit trail Quality assurance Granular access control Hosted or on-premises deployment

Traceability and audit trail

Complete transparency. Every warehouse event, data change and user action can be logged, reviewed and used for audit purposes.

Android application

Mobile-optimised workflows. Warehouse teams can record inventory movements, scrapping and stock blocking directly at the point of work, add photographic evidence to reports and access the information they need on the spot.

Quality assurance

Quality control and validation throughout. Built-in controls support inspections and stock blocking, validate the suitability of storage locations and help manage issues during picking or dispatch.

Faster, more accurate warehouse operations

Optimised workflows reduce unnecessary travel, speed up order picking and help reduce claims.

Multi-warehouse management

Manage multiple warehouses with separate access permissions, clear capacity reporting and processes configured for each site.

Customisable and extensible

System workflows, data fields and behaviour can be configured, and the solution can be extended to meet bespoke requirements.

TRACEABILITY AND END-TO-END TRACK AND TRACE

The complete lifecycle of every inventory item in one clear view

FlexPortals WMS presents the complete journey of an inventory item as a clear chronological timeline, from receipt through storage and internal processing to dispatch. Every inventory movement can be linked to the user who performed it, the timestamp, the storage location, supporting documents, photographs and other event data. The detailed event history enables rapid information retrieval and supports auditability, quality assurance and the investigation of discrepancies.

Let’s discuss your traceability requirements

Visual inventory lifecycle

Receipt, put-away, relocation, inventory adjustment, order picking, packing and dispatch can all be followed in a single chronological view.

Identifiers and inventory relationships

Traceability can encompass the SKU, lot or batch number, expiry date, SSCC, pallet, container, storage location and stock owner. These relationships also support FIFO- and FEFO-based operations.

Documented event history

Each operation can capture the responsible user, timestamp, quantity and status changes, together with the associated transaction record, document or photograph. Quality inspections, stock blocks and releases also remain fully traceable.

Rapid retrieval and auditing

Starting with a lot number, an SSCC or an inventory-item ID, you can establish where the goods originated, which storage locations they passed through, which operations were performed and which outbound shipments they were assigned to. The complete audit trail supports the investigation of claims, discrepancies and quality events.

LABELLING AND LABEL MANAGEMENT

Centrally managed labelling across all logistics operations

FlexPortals WMS provides centralised control over label generation, label-printer management and print-process monitoring. In addition to logistics labels that meet GS1 and VDA requirements and carry SSCC identifiers, bespoke company-specific formats can also be configured. Centralised management ensures that the correct label is printed at every site, on the appropriate printer, while maintaining full traceability.

Let’s discuss your labelling processes

GS1, SSCC, VDA and custom labels

Central management of templates, label data and usage rules for GS1- and VDA-compliant logistics labels carrying SSCC identifiers, as well as bespoke company labels.

Site-level printer management

Label printers can be registered, activated or deactivated for each warehouse and site. Print jobs can be redirected to another available device when required.

Availability monitoring and fault escalation

Printer availability and operating status can be monitored continuously. In the event of a fault, automatic alerts and rule-based escalation enable the responsible teams to intervene quickly.

Traceability and analytics

You can trace which label was printed, when and where it was printed, what data it contained and whether the print job was successful. Reports and statistics for defined periods can be generated from print and reprint events.

Extensive feature set

Lot and expiry management

Lot-level traceability using lot numbers and expiry dates.

FIFO / FEFO

Automatic stock selection based on expiry date or receipt sequence.

Kitting

Management of kits and packs comprising multiple SKUs.

Returnable packaging

Tracking of pallets, crates and other returnable assets.

Procurement

Integrated tracking of inbound deliveries, expected receipts and procurement workflows.

Stocktaking

Continuous stocktaking without a complete operational shutdown.

Stock blocking

Dedicated statuses for scrap, quarantined goods and items under inspection.

Document management

Delivery notes, inspection reports and other documents can be linked to warehouse events.

Incident reports

Damage, operational issues and other warehouse events can also be documented using mobile devices.

Barcodes and QR codes

Rapid identification and error-free operations using mobile devices.

The features above represent only a selection of the platform’s capabilities.
